Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made through AutomatesTime, a trade name of ADCENDANT LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). It describes when and how refunds are granted for our two categories of offering: (1) subscription software products and (2) professional services engagements.
1. Subscription software products
For recurring subscription software products billed monthly or annually (including but not limited to LockInPal at app.lockinpal.com):
- 14-day pro-rated refund window. A subscriber who cancels within 14 calendar days of the first successful payment may request a pro-rated refund of the unused portion of that billing period.
- After 14 days, no automatic refund. Subsequent billing periods are non-refundable. Subscribers may cancel at any time and retain access through the end of the paid period. No refund is issued for partial unused periods after the 14-day window.
- Free trials. Free trial periods convert to paid subscriptions only if the subscriber does not cancel before the trial end date. No charge is processed during the trial. If a charge is processed in error during a free trial, contact us and we will reverse it within 5 business days.
- Disputed charges. A subscriber who believes a charge was made in error should contact us at support@automatestime.com before initiating a chargeback with their card issuer. Chargebacks initiated without prior contact may result in suspension of the account pending review.
2. Professional services engagements
For one-time and milestone-based project engagements (custom website design and development, marketing automation implementation, technical retainers, education-sector software builds):
- Refund terms are governed by the executed Statement of Work (SOW) signed by both parties at the start of the engagement. Each SOW specifies milestone dates, deliverables, and the conditions under which a milestone payment is or is not refundable.
- General principle: work that has been completed and delivered is not refundable. Work that has been paid for in advance but not yet started or delivered is refundable on written request, less any third-party costs already incurred on the client's behalf (domain registration, hosting, third-party software licenses, contractor fees).
- Cancellation by client. A client may terminate an engagement at any time by written notice to support@automatestime.com. Refundable amounts will be calculated based on the SOW milestone status as of the termination date and refunded within 30 calendar days.
- Cancellation by AutomatesTime. In the rare event that we terminate an engagement (for example, due to a fundamental conflict of scope or a payment default), any milestone payments received for work not yet delivered will be refunded within 30 calendar days, less any third-party costs already incurred.
3. Non-refundable items
The following are not eligible for refund under any circumstances:
- Free consultation calls or scoping conversations conducted before a signed agreement.
- Time-based fees for work that has been performed and delivered.
- Third-party pass-through costs that we incur on a client's behalf (domain registrations, hosting fees paid to Vercel or other providers, third-party software licenses, contractor fees) once those costs have been irreversibly paid out.
- Custom deliverables that have been accepted by the client in writing.
4. How to request a refund
Send an email to support@automatestime.com with:
- Your full name and the email address associated with the purchase.
- The invoice number, order number, or transaction date.
- The reason for the refund request.
We respond to refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days via the original payment method.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Changes do not retroactively affect refund rights for purchases made before the effective date of the change.
